This is a brilliant game if you're outside and happen to have a couple of bikes knocking about. The aim of this game is to be the last person across the finish line.
What do we need
A bike and somewhere to race.
How do we play it?
Simples. It's a bike race around a designated course which contestants must complete without touching the ground. The last one across the finishing line wins, which means you to do it as slowly as possible. If you put your foot on the ground or fall off you're out.

What do I need to play?
Six crackers each, a thick piece of ribbon and a rolled up newspaper per player. You need to ensure your whackers are the same size per player to ensure no one has an unfair advantage.
How do I play it?
- Distribute the cream crackers to ensure each player has six and then help each other out by tying them to your heads with a ribbon, It's easiest if you tie a ribbon around your head and then slip the crackers in all around the ribbon
- On the word go players chase each other around the room for one minute with their rolled up newspaper and try to whack each other’s crackers until they’re all shattered away into crumbs
- The person with the most in tact cream crackers at the end of the minute round wins.

Hopscotch can be found dating back to the Roman Empire, when soldiers used the game to improve their footwork and agility in preparation for battle. The game continues to be played all over the world and has spawned many variants. I’ve featured the one most commonly found in school playgrounds today, along with some more novel variations for those looking to experiment.
What do we need to play it?
Some chalk, something to use as a marker and a pavement or tarmac to play on.
How do we play it?
- To play this classic game, begin by chalking out your play area.
- The first player takes their marker (it can be a stone, or a coin, for example) and tosses it onto square number one.
- The hopper then has to hop up the course, missing the square that the marker landed on. They must be on one leg when it’s a single square, or straddle both squares if it’s a double. The ‘home’ square (the first chalked-out square) can be hopped through however the player likes.
- Once completed, they must then turn around and hop back, picking up their marker on the way, before throwing it onto the number two square and repeating the process.
- If the player falls over, misses a square or steps on the line, their go ends and it’s the turn of the next player.
- Players always begin their turn where they last left off. The first player to complete the course working through the numbers wins the game.

This is a hilarious game invented by my boyfriend Barney and our friends Molly and Louis. It's ideal to play if someone has dozed off on the sofa or has reached a deep state of inebriation and slumber. Remember the 1980s game for Buckaroo? Well this is the real life version.
How do I play it?
- Wait until your friend or relative has dozed off and then distribute a stack of plastic or paper cups to all players.
- Players then take it in turns to gently place the plastic or paper cup on the dozing individual, carefully stacking them up so you have a big healthy collection balanced all over their body.
- The person who places the cup that wakes the dozer up is the Loser.
- If you were in a mean mood you could opt to have a small amount of water in each of the cups. Not recommended when playing with aged relatives.
